Doom-Dust of the Disintegrator: Deluxe Edition

Mistress of the Bow, O Terrifying One, Lead us not into the dust

Doom-Dust of the Disintegrator is a dark Egyptian challenge dungeon for the Shadowdark RPG, inspired by classic tournament modules and the deadly tombs of sword-and-sorcery fiction.

Players take on the role of a band of raiders racing to plunder the shattered tomb-mound of a destroyed demilich before a divine sandstorm buries it forever.

Designed for 4th-level characters, Doom-Dust of the Disintegrator combines the lethality and pressure of tournament-style adventures with the replayability of a procedurally generated dungeon crawl. It's ideal for challenging players at large conventions, at local game days, or around the table at home.

Backers can get Doom-Dust of the Disintegrator in PDF and print formats. Every backer also receives digital maps, pregenerated characters, illustrated handouts, and other bonus materials.

From warp and weft we beg your aid

For generations, nomads traveled in fear of the Disintegrator: a demilich who ruled from a black tomb-mound that scarred the sands of Stygia.

Yet the mound pulsed with power long before dancing girls rang cymbals to ward off the lich's curse. The dying giantesses of the desert buried their priestesses within the mound, begging their silent goddess Net to preserve them.

The goddess did not answer, and the priestesses peeled in their crypts.

When the demilich was carried to the mound, he came not as a conqueror. Instead, he brought an offering, a promise that death need not shatter what the giantesses had sworn to keep whole.

A covenant was struck: the demilich would grant the priestesses false fertility and life beyond death. In return, he would swallow the ashes of those who came to hold vigil—or to plunder.

But aeons passed, and the demilich's hunger gnawed. No longer content to share the mound's power, he sought to devour it—and the sleeping goddess Net herself.

On a night split by scalding lightning, the Disintegrator wrought his betrayal. However, the daughters of the desert are not so easily consumed, and the demilich's sorcery twisted back on him, leaving only a heap of cursed dust.

For dust is what the goddess makes of all things.
